The Story behind "Kept"

Kept was born from my desire to encourage other young women walking through hard seasons—because I’ve been there.

Recently, I went through a season where I had to rely heavily on my faith. I found myself in a dark place where anxiety overwhelmed my mind and even affected me physically. It was frightening, and I had never experienced anything like it. But even in the fear and confusion, I knew where to look. When nothing else felt certain, Jesus did.

So I ran to Him.

I immersed myself in Scripture, prayed constantly, started journaling, listened to sermons and Christian podcasts, and filled my life with worship and truth. Healing wasn’t instant. I had good days and hard days, but little by little, God restored me. Through every sleepless night, I could feel the Holy Spirit with me, giving me peace that made no sense in the midst of my circumstances. He never left. (Philippians 4:6-9, Joshua 1:9, Romans 8:35-39, Psalm 34:18, Psalm 23, Isaiah 26:3-4, Deuteronomy 31:8, Matthew 28:20)

In that season, He didn’t just heal me—He shaped me. He taught me, refined me, and grew me into who He created me to be. I think of it like a seed: it’s planted in the dark first, growing unseen roots long before anything sprouts. That’s what God has been doing in me—building a firm foundation in Him so I can grow strong and steady.

And as a plant grows, it still needs watering and pruning. In the same way, as we abide in Him, He continues to mold us, remove what doesn’t belong, and shape our character. It’s not always easy, but it leads to the most beautiful bloom. (John 15:4-11)

My prayer is that Kept reminds you that even in the valleys, God is with you. He is in control. You can rest in His peace and trust His plan, knowing it is far greater than anything you could imagine. Your story is safe in His hands. (Psalm 23, Proverbs 3:5-6, Jeremiah 29:11-13, Psalm 37:4-5)

He is with you, He holds you, He keeps you—through it all.
